Nantes - Docking

Feb 19, 2018

It is best to take the whole flood tide to reach the city from St Nazaire.

The left-hand branch of the river leads to the  Ponton Belon, which is on the port side. The tide runs fast here, but mooring is straightforward. It is close to the city center.

There are no moorings for private boats on the island side. This is reserved for tour boats only.

Beyond five of the bridges upstream from Ponton Belon, is the entrance to the river Erdre. This leads to the Ile de Versailles and the location of Ponton Versailles.
