Description:
Saint Jean de Luz is a charmingly attractive resort with a distinct Basque identity. It is just 8nm north east of the border with Spain.
It has a natural harbor and is an active port and important base for sardine, anchovy, and tuna fishing. The town lies on the north bank of the river, with Cibourne on the south.

43° 24’05″N, 01° 40’21″W (harbour entrance)
Docking
The outer harbor is well protected with breakwaters and rocks. The inner harbor, with the marina on the Ciboure side, is totally secure.
The fishing harbor is to port on entering the inner harbor.
There is a small anchorage just inside the western breakwater and another, larger area, off the beach opposite St Jean de Luz. There are also 20 mooring buoys for yachts on passage.
