Paimpol - Docking

Apr 03, 2019

Given sufficient rise of tide, the approach channel across the Anse de Paimpol is straight forward. There is usually more water than is shown on the chart. Beware of two nasty patches of rock (marked by perches) close to the northern side of the channel when approaching the breakwater of the outer harbor.

The visitor's berths are straight ahead after exiting the lock, but at busy periods, the birthing staff will guide boats to a berth. Large vessels are berthed in the fishing boat harbor, which is to port on exiting the lock. Paimpol is home to several old, traditional fishing boats.

The lock is open 2 1/2hrs each side of HW.
