The international dialling code for Italy is +39.

The three major mobile phone companies in Italy are Wind, TIM, and Vodafone.

Europeans can use their own mobile phone, free of roaming, all over Europe.

For non-Europeans, an Italian SIM card is the best option if you have an unlocked phone. Prepaid cards (“ricarica”) can be purchased from most tobacco shops.

Alternatively enable an international plan with your cell phone provider.

Many marinas and some harbours have WiFi. It is not always free. Last updated:  March 2019
