General Info
Description:
This harbour is midway between Barletta and Bari.
This is one of those towns which hides it charms until you venture beyond the waterfront. It is also backed by a modern development which provides all city services.
There is very little tourism here. The Norman fort that dominates the harbour has been converted into apartments and the town plaza is located behind that.
This harbour provides good shelter.
Position:
41°14.77’N, 16°30.8’E (harbour entrance)
Clearance
The Harbourmaster is based in the market building on the SE side of the harbour.
The Customs office is on the first floor overlooking the SW part of the harbour and the Police are in the town.
Docking
This harbour is not safe to enter in strong onshore winds which cause breaking seas at the entrance.
Good shelter, but some swell enters in strong east and northeast winds.
A berth in the marina in the southern part of the harbour. Visitors are made very welcome here.
