Description:
A small, industrial town, about 24 kms (15 miles) south of Livorno (Leghorn). It was designed as a 'garden city' and its 'white beaches' are in fact, limestone and calcium chloride and are polluted by heavy metals (cadmium, mercury, lead etc) waste from the nearby soda factory.
