Naples (Italy) - Docking

Jan 20, 2016

There are several marinas to choose from, although not all of them offer all facilities and good security. However, the major problem is finding a free berth, especially during the high season.

There are two marinas on the Isla Procida, 10NM west of Naples, from which there is a ferry to Naples and another at Pozzuoli on the mainland. This is a similar distance (by sea) west of the city.

A new, large marina (Marina di Pinetamare) is under construction at a site a few miles north-west of Naples. Work was still in progress in January 2016.

Anchoring in the Bay of Naples tends to be uncomfortable due to the frequency and speed of boat traffic.
