On approach, beware of the number of fish farms, they are not easily seen at night.
The harbor is well sheltered but can be subject to swell in strong easterlies.
There are two marinas in the harbor. If requested, either one will send a boat out to guide you to a berth. Just ensure you are clear which one you are talking to (they both listen on VHF channels 06 and 09).
Provisions and fuel are not easily obtained here. This town pretty much shuts down in the winter, however, shops can be found in Pachino - a couple of miles up the hill.
There are plenty of restaurants.
