Yachts approaching Sydney should contact Sydney Maritime or Sydney Radio on VHF Channel 16 who will direct you to the Department of Home Affairs Boarding Station for Arrival at Neutral Bay. Be aware that the arrival time you provide must be your arrival time - you are not allowed to arrive early or anchor to wait for the designated time.
Approx. 33°50.6'S - 151°12.95'E - Co-ordinates provided by Australian Border Force.
Australian Border Force and the Department of Agriculture carry out customs, immigration and biosecurity clearance formalities here. Officials are reported to be friendly and easy-going and the process should take about an hour.
It is advisable to research and review Australia's biosecurity entry requirements for all food and and organic products so that there are no surprises as requirements may change without notice. If you have non-accepted food items on board you may have to pay hundreds of dollars for disposal of the items on entry.
