There is a washing machine in the building on the jetty. Donation appreciated. If locked, the Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) office on Bowker Ave. has a key, a ten-minute walk from the wharf.
There are two small provision stores and several specialty shops catering to tourists. Joy's shop, just up the street from the museum, is the larger of the two food shops and has a surprising selection, considering the distant location.
