Description:
Tanjung Pinang is the ferry port on the western side of the large island of Bintan, which, itself lies immediately east of Bantam Island. It is the largest city on Bintan island and a useful provisioning stop with its wonderful market, however, be warned, the port itself is extremely dirty with a great deal of debris in the water.

Tanjung Pinang is a filthy harbour, the worst we saw in Indonesia. Rubbish was floating by everywhere and we had to clear the prop of our dinghy several times.

We did not find the resort friendly nor anxious for business. A boat with us inquired about a berth and was told they were “full”, despite only having 3 out of 14 docks occupied all night.
