Nunukan - Restrictions

Dec 28, 2024

Where is Nunukan?

This port is situated in the northernmost district of Indonesia's North Kalimantan Province and is directly bordered by several areas of Malaysia - to the west is Sarawak and to the north is Sabah.

Entrance Notes and Cautions for Nunakan:

There are lots of seaweed farms when approaching Nunukan from Tawau.  It is advisable to keep to the west and don't be tempted to cut the corner.  The anchorage has room for more than 25 boats but because the currents can run strong here, give yourself plenty of room to swing if there are other boats in the anchorage.

Cruiser Highlights for Nunukan:

It is possible to get supplies here from shops and local markets and they have some interesting products for sale that are made from seaweed.

Position:

04° 01'N, 117° 47'E.
