Biak - Docking

Mar 26, 2025

Anchorages:

Anchor near the main wharf (01° 11.20' S, 136° 04.79' E) in about 15-17m deep. It can be quite rolly here and the squalls that come through can be very strong.

There is an anchorage much further up the reef (01° 10.273'S, 136° 02.725'E) in 10-15m with excellent holding. This is much better protected but a long dinghy ride to the main town.

Dinghy Docks:

Access to the jetty is difficult, but the locals will help you to tie up to their fishing boats. Alternatively on the western side of the jetty there is a slightly lower section that can be used during the right tides.

Garbage:

There is a large mini skip just outside the fish/vegetable market that visiting yachts can use.
