Evia - Documents

May 05, 2022

Description:

This long, narrow island lies parallel to the mainland coast of Greece, separated from it by the Evripos Canal to the east and the Orei channel to the north. It is generally a wild and unspoiled island but has 2 boatyards, good yachting services and excellent connections to Athens by bus.

In August 2021 the northern part of the island suffered extensive fire damage, with the forest destroyed in a large area from just north of Limni on the west coast across to Agia Anna. However, all ports, coastal resorts, both boatyards, all anchorages and services were not affected and remain open for business as usual.

Position:

38°24.03'N, 23°38.18'E (southern approach to Chalcis)
