Visited May 2018. Found deeper waters than charted on the eastern side of the bay. 10 to 12 m until quite close inshore when there appears to be a shelf of less than 5 metres. Holding appears good.

Tavernas on the west side have their own quays, free if you eat there. The jetty appears to have been appropriated by charterers.

Supplies available in town but this is not a must-see destination really but is a useful stopover en route to or from the Canal.

The only problem here is the mosquitos, they are really attacking. The cause is the swampy area nearby. The government used to spray the area with small airplanes but that helps only for a while, some days, and then it starts over again.

I had in 10 minutes 23 bites, and after being bitten there were drops of blood on my skin. Talks with some locals made it clear that this is a real problem. So in daytime no trouble swimming, very nice, but when the twilight starts, you have to be inside somewhere.
