Description:
The main reason for visiting Iraklion is to visit the ancient site of the city of Knossos outside the town. It is not considered a very attractive port of call or a particularly good haven.
Entrance Notes and Cautions:
Beware of the swell which is generated each day when the Seajet ferry docks (around 1900).

A few minutes walk to the city with its many tavernas and shops.
