As a busy fishing harbor, Iraklion has a good range of repair facilities. It is probably best to contact the yacht club, whose secretary will recommend the relevant workshop. The club also has a skilled mechanic who can undertake some repair jobs, such as sail, rigging, electrical or electronics. Most chandleries and workshops are open 08:30-14:30 Monday to Saturday, 17:30-20:30 Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
There is a yard operating in the port area and boats can be hauled out on one of the slips or lifted with one of the cranes belonging to the Port Authority. The mobile crane has a capacity of 20 tons.
