Miami - Docking

Miami and Miami Beach are separate cities, but both are included in this list. Miami Beach is located on the barrier island east of Miami.

Dockage options in Miami Beach are typically more expensive than Miami, but many cruisers take advantage of the copious anchorage options and forego the marinas altogether. Some marinas charge a fee to land an dinghy at their docks.

To differentiate between Miami and Miami Beach marinas, check the address of the listing.

There are hundreds of marinas, dockage options, and anchorages in the Miami and Miami Beach area. The list below includes some of the more notable marinas or locations with which Noonsite contributors have experience. Please send suggestions of marinas to [email protected].

HURRICANE IRMA: Many of the marinas in this listing may have been damaged during Hurricane Irma (September 2017), particularly Dinner Key Marina and the mooring field adjacent. Please email us with updates.

**BEWARE IF COMING STRAIGHT FROM CUBA!!***

We sailed from Havana to Miami, as we’d been advised that customs at Key West can be funny about boats arriving from Cuba. However we were denied a Cruising Permit by the officer in Miami. This means we have to sail to the Bahamas, check in and pay $300 before sailing back to the U.S. (Our boat is British).
