Torquay - Docking

In settled weather, there are several anchorages around the Bay, but none providing all-around shelter close to Torquay.

Seagrass areas are voluntary no anchoring zones – they are marked with buoys. There are plenty of places where you can anchor safely. Boat users can also find out where the seagrass beds are in Torbay by using the Torbay app. The free app has contact details for harbour masters, sailing clubs etc., has all the upcoming maritime events and activities, provides instant weather and tide updates, lists the best places to shop and eat, and is home to information about the wildlife that live in the bay.

The harbour has a marina and a town dock, both of which provide visitors’ berths. There is also a floating pontoon alongside Haldon Pier, which protects the southern side of the harbour.

The inner harbour (access over a sill), is usually full of local boats.

A nice alternative to the town is to take a mooring in Babbacombe Bay.
