Mallaig - Docking

The inner harbour, beyond the fish pier, provides good protection except in strong N'lies.

There is now a marina here but being a convenient stop for crew changes, supplies and repairs, it gets very busy in the height of the season. It is advisable to call in advance to check for space and to book a berth.

Call the Harbour Master (VHF ch 09)  before entering or leaving the marina.

The harbour entrance is closed to small boats when the ferry is due or leaving (red lights are lit on the steamer pier).

Approximately 6nm east of Mallaig harbour is the small village of Inverie, located near the entrance to Loch Nevis. The pub there (The Old Forge) has some moorings and dinghies can be left on the beach.
