Valencia - Docking

Valencia Docking

The large commercial port should not be entered by yachts. Instead, there are 2 separate entries for pleasure boats, one to the south to the Real Club Nautico (RCNV) and Valencia Mar Marina, and another to the north to Marina Port Valencia.

Both yacht harbors have in recent years been substantially expanded to provide a great many superyacht berths.

South Marinas

Valencia Mar Marina is located next to the RCNV. It has floating docks with fingers and is very competitively priced, becoming a popular winter spot. Modern marina, closet to beach and swimming pool. Access to shops and services in the secure RCNV complex.

The main disadvantage with all the Valencia marinas is that they are located quite a distance from the city centre and amenities. The RCNV and VMM are remote and require a taxi or hire-car transport to get anywhere (including supermarkets). Bikes and cars can be rented through the marinas.

Northern Marinas

North of the commercial port is the old port of Valencia which was extended to host the Americas Cup competition in 2007. This now houses the large Marina Port Valencia which is undergoing much-needed improvements during 2024. It should be noted that this is a city marina and pedestrians can access the pontoons without restrictions. Vessels need to stop at the harbour master's office first to complete paperwork before being assigned a berth.

This marina has adequate facilities and is slightly better connected to the city centre with buses and metro. It is, however, a good 15-minute walk from the closest bus stop/metro station. If you have a bicycle though, Valencia is perfect (10 minutes to food shops from this marina) as there are bike paths throughout the City and it is totally flat. This marina is situated right next door to the city beach with a great variety of bars and restaurants, however due to the high marina walls there are no views. The marina has spacious berths. Can be uncomfortable in strong northerly winds.

Outside Valencia

Just north of Valencia, past the commercial port of Sagunto, is the Port of Burriana (Castellón) with the Marina Burriananova.
