Kassandra Peninsula - Docking

May 05, 2022

On the western side of the peninsula there is a new C&N Marina in Sani, developed as part of an exclusive spa resort and the fishing port of Nea Skioni. The eastern coast has several good anchorages and possible jetty berthing at Nea Fokaia, approximately 12.8 kms (eight miles) SE of the Portas Canal.

Portas Canal

This shallow canal is 0.8 kms (1/2 mile long), minimum 36 meters wide and is spanned by a bridge with 17 meters clearance. It is dredged to 2.5 meters but beware of silting along the sides and at the western end. At the eastern end of the canal it is possible to anchor. There is a fuel station nearby, provisions and tavernas.

Nea Fokaia

Position:  Lat 40°08.01 N Long 23°24.02 E.

The village here has a short jetty protected by a detached breakwater. Berthing for visiting yachts alongside the northern side of the jetty. Open to winds from the north. Water, provisions and tavernas.

Nea Skioni

Position:  Lat 39°56.81 N Long 23°31.59 E.

A fishing harbour on the SW coast of the peninsula, between Ak Posidhion and Ak Paliouri. Reasonable shelter. Moor where possible, recommended west or south quays due to unreliable depths in the east. May have to moor alongside a fishing boat. Water on the quay and fuel in the town, also provisions.
