Anchorages

Due to traffic on the Caloosahatchee River, the river itself is not an ideal anchorage, though some yachts will choose to anchor there coming from or going into the Okeechobee Waterway.

Most anchorages are outside the mouth of the river inside the barrier islands. The options there are plentiful and a much more tenable.

Marinas

Gulf Harbour Yacht and Country Club, located on the shores of the Caloosahatchee River, reopened after Hurricane Ian damage, featuring new Golden Marine Systems docks and 101 slips for boats up to 80 feet (24 meters) in length.

Fort Myers Yacht Basin is closed due to Hurricane Ian. Reservations are not accepted. No water, electricity, or fuel are available. No live-aboards are allowed.

After Hurricane Ian, Legacy Harbour Marina declared in November 2022 that it would close indefinitely in order to renovate and sanitize the facility.
