Description:
Mount Desert Island lies approximately 150nm southwest of the Canadian border. Southwest Harbor lies on its southern side at the entrance to Somes Sound. It is less well-known than its neighbor, Bar Harbor, on the eastern side of the island, but it is a quaint New England town.
