Many people install the MOOVIT app on their phone which shows all local bus routes and stops.

Taxis

On nearly every street corner, there is also a yellow taxi call button. If you push the button, in a few minutes a taxi will appear and take you to your destination. Make sure that the driver puts the meter on, otherwise there may be a dispute about the fare.

In Alanya, cruisers recommend using the taxi services of Ahmet Sahin (WhatsApp number +90 530 412 73 71), who speaks English, German and Turkish fluently. He will take you to the right repair shop, describe your problem to the tradesmen and negotiate for the best price.

Ahmet does not take a kick-back from the tradesman for this, but you should compensate him appropriately for his taxi mileage/time and his translating services. It is highly recommended to use Ahmet’s services.

Buses

There is a bus stop on the main road with regular buses into the town.  From Alanya you can get a bus to other towns including Antalya and Mersin.

It is 1TL on the bus from the marina to town, which runs every few minutes.

Airports

Alanya has a small international airport at Gazipaşa (GZP) and the larger Antalya airport is 125 kms (77.6 miles) from the marina, 1.5 hours by car.

This is the busiest airport in Turkey for international connections. There are direct flights to nearly all destinations from Antalya airport all round year, not only in the high season.

    Data Entry says:

Posted on behalf of East-Med Marinas:
You may remember that Alanya Marina used to have a swell problem inside of the marina when there is a south westerly storm. Now the protective breakwater is nearly completed to stop the swell and it is working well.

Is it possible to make an announcement for your readers as some may wish to have less expensive and safe Marina on the southern coast of Turkey.
