Huelva - Fees

Oct 11, 2025

Where is Huelva?

Huelva is in southern Spain in Andalucia, near the border of Portugal. The town sits between the estuaries of the Odiel and Tinto rivers in the Gulf of Cadiz.

The port of Mazagon is located at the mouth of the estuary and the city of Huelva lies approx. 10 miles inland.

Huelva lies in between Faro and Seville airports (both 1.5 hours away).

Entrance Notes and Cautions

The tide runs strongly in the Ria de Huelva.

There is considerable fishing and commercial traffic, both day and night.

Wind against tide in the river produced notable waves which may make outer marina berths uncomfortable.

Cruiser Highlights

Easy connections to airports; modern marina; Marismas del Odiel Nature Reserve (declared a Unesco Biosphere Reserve in 1983); Rio Tinto mining area; home to Spain's oldest football team; not touristy.
