Chipiona - Customs

Description:

Located on the southern shore at the entrance to the Guadalquivir River which is navigable for 55nm up to Sevilla. It is marked by the tallest lighthouse in Spain. It is a popular tourist resort.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

For advice on negotiating the Rio Guadalquivir up to Sevilla, ask to see the marina's copy of the excellent "Guide for the Navigation of Yachts (Guia para la Navegacion de Yates)".

Note: It is necessary to have a berth confirmed from a Sevilla marina 24 hours in advance of getting through the new lock and the bridge in Sevilla. If you do not speak Spanish ask Chipiona or Mazagon Marina to assist you.
