Ayamonte (River Guandiana) - Docking

Jul 18, 2018

This marina is adjacent to the centre of the town of Ayamonte and is approached via an entrance which leads directly on to the river (see photo below courtesy of www.hcparquitectos.com). It is subject to wash from fast-moving boats in the river.

Fortunately, the marina entrance channel and marina itself was dredged very well in 2016, so depths even at low tide are at least 3m. Be aware however that this area is prone to silting, so call the marina prior to entering to confirm current depths.

Call VHF Ch 09 before entering the basin, or secure to the western-most hammerhead or suitable berth on the western-most pontoon. Office hours are limited - 0930/1330 and 1600/1700 weekdays - closed Saturday and Sunday afternoons in winter, however, 24-hour security will deal with check-in outside office hours and issue security gate passes.

There is good anchoring in the area around the marina and easy dinghy access for landing there.
