La Linea - Clearance Agents

Aug 12, 2024

Description:

La Línea, in the province of Cádiz in Andalucia, lies on the sandy isthmus which unites the Rock of Gibraltar with the coast in the eastern flank of the Bay of Gibraltar, between Sierra Carbonera and the Rock of Gibraltar.

The town is very pleasant once you reach the centre which is a 15-20 minute walk from the marina. There are lots of old streets jammed with tapas bars, shops and restaurants.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

There is a strong current running through the marina, making mooring particularly difficult in high winds. Anchor in the bay and wait for settled conditions before attempting to enter the marina.

La Linea is known as having a problem with dinghy theft from boats at anchor. Be careful leaving your dinghy in the water and just tied on with the painter while down below. It's recommended here to always lift your dinghy, or secure it to the boat with a padlock to deter thieves.

Position:

36° 09.59'N, 05° 22.22'W (marina entrance)
