La Linea - Clearance

Aug 12, 2024

This is a Port of Entry.

See the Noonsite/Spain/Formalities page for details of clearance.

Current reports from cruisers in Alcaidesa Marina, La Linea, are that Spanish Police patrol the pontoons almost on a daily basis, wanting to see the passports of UK yacht crew particularly.

However, in the past, cruisers have reported that officials here don't seem particularly interested in the comings and goings of yachts. One cruiser arriving from Morocco, found no officials prepared to give him "clearance" and instead just waved him away.

If departing La Linea for a non-EU country (i.e. Morrocco) and you need to get your passport stamped, you will need to visit the Border Police at Gibraltar. They are located in the border post building, 100m to the right of passport control. Note, the door is not marked Guardia Civil. Take your a stamped marina invoice or arrival form, as this will make the process easier.
