Garrucha - Docking

Apr 03, 2018

The marina is close to the town centre, which has a plethora of restaurants and supermarkets.

Vessels in transit are directed by the marineros to the north end of the marina, past the fuel station. Marineros are listening on VHF Ch: 09 and don't speak English.

The port is open to the south and, at times, encounters very strong swells and winds, particularly in the afternoon. This excessive swell can cause severe damage to yachts tied alongside, so permanent mooring lines are available to try to limit a boat’s movement.

Gypsum is regularly offloaded in the port which can leave deposits on the deck, difficult to remove.
