We went here and asked about berths in August at the town pontoons. We were told no multihull berths at all in August. That said, we anchored in the bay in poor weather with no problems.

Just come back from 5 weeks sailing around Mallorca and spent a week at Soller. Agreed the anchorage was busy and good spots difficult to find, but don’t let that put you off. Avoid August. I have a 14m sailing boat and after a bit of a nose around found a nice little spot.

For those who want to tie up (to a dock) the local port authority operate their own berths at very reasonable prices. You need to register in advance which requires completion of a form and supporting docs (i.e. registration certificate, insurance etc.). Once done they process your application fairly quickly (a couple of days) and you can then book berths and pay online. You can stay a maximum of 5 days. Max size 15m. Found all of the above to be true! …except for anchoring in the bay only possible at the SW end of the bay which really is unsuitable most of the time (if no wind, there almost always is swell standing into the bay), Mooring buoys are available from the marina – supply is limited.

Very friendly and courteous reception, even so, the marina still is under construction and facilities thus are basic (showers & restrooms in containers). Water and Electricity available, no marina-restaurant but lots of great little bars and restaurants along the shoreline.

Inner harbour terribly crowded and entrance gets shallow fast. The sand-beach is artificial and thus the waves and currents tend to shift the sand constantly towards the entrance of inner harbour – so be extra caution!
Usually “Stern to” – but during our visit, it was no problem to go alongside.
20-ton crane – but in the most shallow part of the marina, for most of us, not an option.

Laundry service, very small chandlery, equally small supermarket within easy walking distance in town.

Lots of fishing boats (and unusual heavy small craft traffic in this port) make for a lot of very good “flying mechanics” – just ask the fishermen for a recommendation/phone number.

Don’t miss the Victorian tram! 🙂
