Pulau Langkawi - Transport & Travel

Feb 08, 2024

There is a free passenger ferry from Rebak Marina which departs several times a day to the nearby mainland village of Cenang.

The marina now also provides a free shuttle bus service to Kuah from the 9: 15-morning ferry and 14: 25-afternoon ferry and returning from Kuah at 13:15 and 17:30 hours - you have to get a pass from the reception before departure. Payment for the ferry is made on the return journey and tickets are obtained at the gatehouse before getting on the ferry. There is a free Friday morning ferry to Langasuka for the wet market/vegetable stall with an hour to purchase your goods before returning on the 10:30 ferry.

You can hire a car via the Telaga marina at 10RM per hour. No paperwork.

Langkawi/Satun (Thailand) Ferry

This ferry began operating again on October 1, 2022 and is recommended by yachties who use the service for visa runs from Langkawi to Thailand or from Thailand (from Phuket or elsewhere) driving to Satun and over to Langkawi by ferry. There is no direct flight to Langkawi from Phuket.

Very interesting scenic drive where you can stop at many hotels on the way. Ferry is around 45 minutes to Langkawi.

No pre-bookings by phone or any other way. You need to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.
