Description:
The second largest town in Sarawak, Sibu is situated on the confluence of the Rajang and Igan Rivers, some 60 nm from the sea. Even at this point, the river is over a mile wide.
There are several entrances to the main river.

When arriving here from places other than a port in Sarawak, a boat must clear in with the authorities. Similarly on departure for a destination outside Sarawak.

Docking
The channel up to the city is well marked.
It is possible to anchor in many places in the river, just take care to keep out of the main channel.
There is no information where or if, it is possible to moor in the city, but there are several possible wharves near the Chinese Pagoda.
There is also a possible anchorage near the Sibu Swan sculpture with good holding.
