Location of Offices

All clearance offices are within walking distance in town - on arrival visit them in the following order:

  • Quarantine: Same building as Immigration - at the pier (a few metres from the main Immigration office - blue gates). Dinghies can be left here.
  • Immigration: Same building as Quarantine. All crew must visit for finger-printing.
  • Customs: Just next door to Immigration.
  • The Jabatan Laut (Harbour-master), for port clearance, is located a 5-minute walk away, on the second floor of a building just behind the Chinese Temple, locals will point it out for you. If you are leaving the following day - they will issue inward and outward clearance in one go.

Departure

When departing Kudat for another Malaysian port, or a foreign port, you must go and see all three offices in the reverse order (Quarantine not required).

No clearance charges reported here. All authorities are reported to be very helpful and procedures straightforward.
