Sauteurs - Docking

Feb 07, 2025

Chris Doyle reports that Sauteurs is largely uncharted and has a consistent onshore breeze and swell, so entry to the port should only be taken by experienced sailors in good weather. Reefs are visible on either side of the currently unmarked entrance; one is along the shoreline to the west and the other runs along the breakwater.

Yachts can anchor in the lee of the breakwater, which runs from the eastern shore 1500 feet NW out to the sea and towards the old jetty, in the dredged sand-bottomed harbour in 15 feet. Care should be taken to stay clear of the local fishing boats.
