Excellent travel connections of all types (buses, trains, ferries, and aircraft).
There are good train connections to Athens and Thessaloniki. Also a lot of bus connections to the same cities and to outside Greece (e.g. Istanbul, Sofia etc.). The bus station is 600 meters NW of the fishing harbour. All the long-distance buses are equipped with aircon, adjustable seats etc. They run on time and are cheap.
