Achillio (Achilleion) - Docking

May 05, 2022

Although this is a ferry port, once the boats discharge their passengers, they leave on coaches, providing a quiet and peaceful harbour.

There is a short mole on the north-eastern side of the harbour adjacent to the local boat harbour.   The mole can accommodate about 10 yachts, stern to on their own anchors and local boats. Likely to provide good shelter on the mole which is quite substantial.

The Town Quay, east of the ferry/tripper boat jetty, is partially exposed to the prevailing afternoon easterly winds which results in a slop but not much else. In anything stronger, it would not be a good place to be.

The quayside is equipped with mooring rings only, you go stern to with your own anchor. The holding is good. Mooring is free. There is reputed to be water and electricity on the quay, but it may not be easy to find.

There are plenty of restaurants ashore and a couple of mini markets with limited provisions, but little else.
