Pithagorion (Samos) - Docking

Jun 25, 2024

Moor bows/stern-to the west quay in the inner harbour. The bottom is sand and mud with good holding. Beware of the shallows to port (marked by an unlit beacon) at the entrance to the inner harbour. With the Meltemi blowing, strong gusts will be experienced in the approaches.

The shelter from northwesterly winds is excellent, however, rates are reported to be high (does include water and electricity).

The yacht marina here is located just to the east of the outer harbour. Facilities are basic and all supplies and chandlery items must be purchased in town, just over a mile walk along the rough coastal track. Most supermarkets deliver to the marina if you spend over a certain amount.

It is not permitted to anchor in the bay just outside the harbour. There is a large bay beyond Samos Marina that can be used for anchoring, however, it's a long distance from the town.
