You can buy arts & crafts from stores or from the artists themselves.

An Artisan Centre at the municipal harbour (dinghy dock) sells good quality local crafts.

Many nice waterfalls with great pools for swimming are easily accessed from different bays, the most famous being, Hakaui, accessed from "Daniel's" bay.

In Daniels Bay, the welcoming local family of Teiki Totomimi and Kuo Teikiteetini have taken over the mantle of Daniel in looking after sailors. They provide lunch from all their own produce, sell fruit (cheap) from their own garden, and will direct you to a fresh water pipe. Highly recommended by cruisers – ask them to show you how to open coconuts.

There are great hikes from Anaho Bay to Hatieu Bay and Haataivea Bay.

Helicopter scenic flights -  15 or 30 minute flights are available - find the office behind the Socredo bank. Electric mountain bikes, scooters, mini-foldable electric bikes are available for rent.

Rose Corser Museum can be visited some mornings at 10am with advance notice if possible.

Daniel, Kapa Services, welcomes musicians to jam on Saturday afternoons while you are browsing Fast Internet & enjoying home-made snacks/ fresh juice. He also offers laundry services & tattooing.

Cruisers recommend a 4×4 Island Discovery Tour with a good guide to discover stunning views and learn more about the island. The competent French/English guides will show you several traditional sacred sites and other points of interest in Tapivai Valley all the way to Hatiheu where we had lunch at Chez Yvonne, a restaurant with excellent reputation as top food at reasonable prices!
