Approach to the entrance to Kas Harbour is not easy to identify until close up, and an underwater rock nearby is marked with a buoy.
To moor in the harbor go stern or bows-to on the inside quay. Holding in the harbor is reasonable and the shelter is good, although with winds from the west a substantial surge does enter. Although full of charter, dive, and tourist boats, space can usually be found on the southern quay.
Located to the northwest of Kas on the other side of the town dock is Bucak Deniz, a long, fjord-like bay with good protection and Kas Marina at its head (approx. an hours sail away). This is a peaceful bay, only interrupted by occasional traffic along the coast road, which follows the perimeter of the marina. This is a good place to pump out black water and gain more shelter.
