Where is Yalova?

Yalova is a market-gardening town located in NW Turkey on the eastern coast of the Sea of Marmara. A largely modern town, it is best known for the spa resort nearby, a popular summer retreat for residents of Istanbul. Yalova is a popular destination for tourists who are looking for peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The history of Yalova goes back to ancient times, where traces of various civilizations can be traced in the region. Yalova is characterized as a natural thermal basin area known for thousands of years, and it has attracted many visitors from all over the world to enjoy the benefits of its mineral waters. Over time, Yalova has become a homeland for a variety of temples and historical places that reflect the city's history and culture.

Setur Yalova Marina was opened for operation in 2010. It is the only marina, other than the Istanbul Marinas, in the Marmara Sea. The marina and its boatyard are located right in the centre of the town and are a more affordable option than the Istanbul marinas. It is a convenient place to berth if wanting to visit Istanbul, but not pay the high prices of the marinas there. A frequent ferry into Istanbul leaves from next to the marina.

Due to its location, it is a transit stopping point for yachts sailing between the Black Sea and the Aegean Sea.

Cruiser Highlights:

Quiet, tidy and organised marina, walking distance to all services and facilities, close to Istanbul and international airport, boatyard and hardstanding (winter option), fuel, black water pump out.

Position:

40° 39.71'N, 29° 16.49'E (marina entrance)
