Bodrum - Docking

Aug 23, 2023

Marinas:

There is a marina at Bodrum itself, one to the west, at Turgutreis and another across the Bodrum Peninsula, at the town of Yalikavak. See Related Businesses for details.

Anchorages:

There is a good anchorage east of the castle in 6-7 meters over black sand. Check the anchor is properly dug in as the bottom has a lot of debris scattered over it.

Anchorages are free and there are also a number of tavernas in the bay that provide free pontoon berthing for a meal in their establishment. Marinas are reported to be expensive in high season.

Waste Disposal

The "Blue Card" waste disposal monitoring scheme was replaced in 2020 by a new system - the DAU ( Denizcilik Atiklari Uygulamasi - Maritime Sewage Application) which is supposed to be simpler than the Blue Card program.

Bodrum's Port Captain is reportedly strictly enforcing waste disposal rules - which require yachts to have separate gray water and black water tanks.

See Turkey Restrictions for the latest on gray and black water tank requirements.
