The port city of Santander is the capital of the autonomous community of Cantabria, situated on the north coast of Spain between Asturias (to the west) and the Basque Country (to the east).
Santander is considered one of the most beautiful cities along the coast of the Bay of Biscay and is one of NW Spain's main tourist hubs. It´s an area with a rich maritime heritage. The city's bay is the largest on the northern Spanish coast and offers excellent conditions for watersports.
