Ria De Viveiro - Docking

Aug 28, 2018

Viveiro is the only marina between Ribadeo and Coruna, so it is popular despite its limited facilities. Visitor spaces are located at the entrance, however, these do have a tendency to fill up quickly when boats return from a day cruising in the Ria.

It's possible to anchor off the town beach. Getting ashore by dinghy can be difficult, however. The marina permit anchored boats to alight at steps below the travel lift (not ideal at low tide). At high tide, it's also possible to use the ramp at the base of the large supermarket car park on shore.

There are many delightful anchorages in the Ria, most opposite sandy beaches. Although they offer shelter from the S winds, they are exposed to ocean swell.
