Ria de Camarinas - Docking

Select your download option below

Club Nautico de Camarinas is a small, friendly marina at the northern end of the Ria, next to the fishing harbour. There is also a well-sheltered port, Muxia, on the southern side of the Ria. Muxia marina was built here in 2012 (see photo) and they offer a friendly welcome to visiting yachts.

There are a number of anchorages very near the Club Nautico, in 2-8m mud or sand with some gravel depending on where you are. Good shelter from northerly winds can be had using the steep, tree-lined hills north of the Rio del Puente del Puerto.

Careful pilotage is required to avoid dangers on the approach to the Club Nautico (shallows and isolated rocks).

Marina Muxia is run by the gas station attendant who will sprint to the pontoon to take your lines. Very friendly and helpful, some English spoken, water and electricity on pontoons, diesel by portable pump trolley. Wifi, laundry, two shower stalls and one toilet per gender and small sailors hangout with soft drink vending machine and library. The town is small with a mix of tourist apartments, some old stone houses and nearby pilgrim site.

Many restaurants/cafes and two medium sizes supermercados, one with freshly baked bread. Hardware shop and some other amenities in town as well, all a short walk away.

We can recommend Camarinas. Good price, helpful; staff and a nice but quiet town (except when the festival of Carmen is on in July when the noise lasting 4 days is worth the lack of sleep).
