Description:

This notorious peninsula on Spain's Costa da Morte, Galicia, does offer some shelter with picturesque anchorages inside the bay. Finisterre received its name from the Romans as the perceived end of the world of their time. This is a major fishing port and the harbour is crowded with fishing boats.

Entrance Notes and Cautions:

  • This stretch of coast is liberally littered with fishing pots and their are plenty of fishing boats operating as well.
  • Electronic charts may not be that accurate in this region.
  • The swell can be substantial in this bay.
  • Offers good shelter from the west and south, but is open to the north east.

Position:

42° 54.60'N, 09° 15.33'W (harbor entrance)
