Description:

Fukuoka Prefecture lies on the northern shore of Japan’s Kyushu Island. It is the largest city west of Osaka and the most popular place for foreign cruisers to leave their boat over the winter.

For yachts going to/from Korea (and sometimes Russia) this is a good port of entry.

This capital city of Fukuoka is the most important center in Kyushu. Its port is called Hakata.

As well as the two marinas in the main port of Fukuoka, there is also a marina on the NW end of Fukuoka Prefecture at the very western end of the Seto Inland Sea.
