Description:
Siros is a fairly rugged, barren island in the northern Cyclades. The north is bare and largely uninhabited, while the south is more populated with gentle cultivated slopes.
The port Siros (Ermoupolis) is midway down the eastern coast and is a busy, interesting town. There are a few boatyards here where yachts can haul out.
The western coast offers several small ports/anchorages, but only Finikas has anything more than tavernas and some basic provisions (it also has water).
Position:
37° 26.08'N, 24° 56.94'E (entrance Ermoupolis)

Finikas.
A great port to shelter from the meltimi either on the dock or on anchor in the bay.
The harbour master Nicos is very nice guy and of great help to visitors.
We paid under €20 to inc water and electricity.
The bus to Ermoupolis is near by and costs only €2.
A nice port to visit with taverna’s and some shopping.
Marina Sirou near Ermoupolis does NOT have any facilities (no water and no electricity, and no toilets or showers), and it does not offer good shelter in northerly winds (Meltemi).
Had we known, we would have gone to Finikas instead, with the Meltemi blowing, you are much more comfortable there.
In calm weather however, the marina can be useful because there is a supermarket close by, and there is a free bus shuttle to Ermoupolis which is a very pleasant town.
Ermoupolis: harbourmaster Thanasis, +30 6932 644072, helps with berths, lines, water & electricity (posts along the quay- pay for usage to harbourmaster).
Diesel mechanic – Mr. Stamatis, +30 6937 022901
Showers & toilets in harbourmaster building.
In Finikas don’t feel obliged to stop at the first (expensive) restaurant; there’s much more to the place a little way down the road.
