Hilton Head (South Carolina) - Facts

May 27, 2019

Description:

Hilton Head is a quiet residential and vacation community on the southernmost coast of South Carolina. It is immediately north of Savannah. (Hilton Head has no clearance facilities, but Savannah does.)

This is a well-known area for family vacations in the southeastern USA and certain times of the year may be more busy than others (summer, in particular). Still, it will rarely be "crowded" and the pristine white beaches – one of the Top 10 Best on the East Coast – are worth a relaxing visit.

Recent hurricanes (particularly Hurricane Matthew in 2016) have caused major damage to some of the marinas, but rebuilding and renovations are underway.
